Jace Milstead

A Study in Greatness Competence
Sure, Jace Milstead is charming and handsome, but he is more than just a pretty face. He’s a pretty face with a brain for beer. He has parlayed his love of beer into a crusade to educate about, pontificate on and imbibe of the world’s greatest beverage.
As a graduate of the Seibel World Brewing Academy’s Master of Beer Styles and Evaluation Program, as well as one of Los Angeles’ first Certified Cicerones and one of a very select few to sit for the Master Cicerone exam, Jace has made it a mission to not only share as much of his passion and knowledge as possible, but to commit to a continued learning and exploration of what makes the world of craft beer a historical treasure and future institution.
In 2011, Jace became the first Craft Brand Manager at two of the largest and most prestigious distributors in Los Angeles, Ace Beverage and Mission Beverage. Managing a staff of dedicated craft beer sales people, Jace’s sphere of influence stretches from the 57 Freeway, all the way down to Hermosa Beach as he attempts to bring great beer to LA. His brands include Golden Road, Drake’s, TAPS Fish House & Brewery, Bootlegger’s, Hangar 24, New Belgium, Speakeasy and more.
Jace is also a frequent host and contributor to DrinkEatTravel.com as well as the host of “Craft Beer Class,” and “In Pour Taste”. He has been a guest on the “Tasting Room with Tom Leykis” as well as “What’s Cookin’ Today” on CRN Radio, and a speaker for the Ignite Denver Event during the 2011 Great American Beer Festival. Jace is widely recognized as one of Los Angeles’ premiere beer educators and champions, and as such, has consulted on a number of craft beer lists in the city.
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, baby, 4 dogs, a near constant sound of crying in his ears, and the feel of a cold beer in his hand. Jace’s favorite beer style is IPA, and his favorite dog is Radley.
